​BIOGRAPHY:


​​Gretchen Tucker is a classically trained soprano who graduated from Keene State College in 2011 receiving the degree of a B.A. in Music as well as a B.S. in Management and later a M.S. from Emmanuel College in Human Resources. Gretchen has fourteen years of choral experience sometimes serving as ringer and as been in seven choirs. She has been soloing in recitals and in churches for the past eight years singing primarily broadway, opera, religious music, and art songs. She is also a wedding and funeral singer for her church (Our Lady of Czesthchowa Roman Catholic Church) but also is looking forward to a promising career singing at many churches and other venues. Gretchen has been in several musicals and operettas as well. She has received several awards in her improvement, dedication, and excellence as a singer. In high school her choir also won a silver medal in the M.I.C.C.A. competition. Gretchen has sung in English, Latin, Italian, German, French, and Polish among many other different languages. Althought Gretchen has completed and reached many accomplishments she strives to always learn more and grow as a musician.

​​​PRESENT & RECENT PERFORMANCES:


Was the Soprano soloist at Our Lady of Czestochowa for Mass in F by W.A. Lenard on St Cecilia Day Mass (November 17, 2013) and on the recitative for Bach's Weinachts Oratorio excerpt and a Christmas Round by John Tavener at Midnight Mass 2013. ​Additionally Gretchen performed 'On Eagle's Wings' at a funeral in March of 2013. 

MUSICAL THEATRE/CONCERTO:

Gretchen has been in the following shows; Godspell, Hello Dolly!, Welcome Yule, Bye Bye Birdie, H.M.S. Pinafore, as well as performed the Vivaldi Gloria, Randall Thompson's Peaceable Kingdom, Brahms' Liebeslieder Waltzes, and Machaut's Kyrie.

Expierence singing in musical theatre, opera, art songs, & religious works. Some of the pieces performed are by; Purcell, Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Mozart, Schubert, Glück, Brahms, Bizet, Frank, Gounoud, Hahn, Fauré, Debussy, & Gershwin.
